Hi, I’m Peace Lanrewaju. I’m a follower of Christ, a mom, a nurse, and a postpartum doula. But more than any title, I’m someone who believes in the foundational power of our words—a truth that was planted in my heart at 14, when I said a simple prayer of salvation that changed my life.
My entire professional life has been dedicated to caring for moms and babies. It started as a dream to become an OB-GYN, which led me to a fulfilling career as an OB/GYN nurse. But it was my own experience as a first-time mom—feeling overwhelmed and unsure—that led me to become a Postpartum Doula. My goal is simple: to help moms navigate the postpartum stage with confidence and grace, because I’ve been there.
That same journey of motherhood led me to this book. A few years ago, I was searching for books to help my own children understand biblical principles. I found plenty of Bible stories, but I couldn’t find simple, memorable books that taught them how to apply those truths in their daily lives. That’s when I felt the first spark to write my own.
That spark became a “strong urge” I couldn’t ignore, especially as I listened to my own children. I heard so many “I can’t…” statements. It became a constant teaching moment in our home, a time to pull out Phillipians 4:13 and talk about the power they held in their own words. I knew I had to start my writing journey with this exact principle, for my kids… and for yours.
My dream for “The Power of My Words” is that it finds its way into every home, every bookshelf, and every church library. My hope is to hear testimonies from children who read it and are impacted for life. This book is the first of many, with hopes for Bible lesson plans and more resources to help you and your family. My goal is to equip your children to understand the power they have—through Christ—to speak life.
